Winning several awards at this year’s Mobile World Congress, Huawei has again underlined its remarkable innovative prowess.
The award, which took place in Barcelona, Spain, from June 28 to July 1, 2021, is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, Financial Street learnt.
Huawei said the MWC played a pivotal role in setting a roadmap for players in the mobile space to prepare for the coming year.
“It is worthy of note that Huawei has played a central and tremendous role at MWC over a period of time and the 2021 edition was no exception,” the tech giant stated.
The President of Carrier Business Group, Ryan Ding, pointed out that 5G — where Huawei is reportedly a leading player — is currently demonstrating its potential in several markets across the globe, and added the need for more innovation in the space.
According to Ding, several researches carried out by Huawei showed that the 5G technology is already 20 times faster than 4G, with subscribers hitting 390 million in its home market in China and South Korea.
He explained that between 2021 and 2025, the combination of Information and Communications Technology and 5G digital infrastructure would drive economic growth of €1.9tn in China and €130bn in South Korea, numbers proving that operators were becoming drivers of national economies.
“We still need continued 5G innovation. We still need to grow our system tremendously, coordinate telecoms standards and integrate 5G into our core production process,” he stated, describing 5G innovation as an ongoing process that is just the beginning.
The highlight of the event was the Huawei grand launch of series of 5G products and solutions to promote multi-antenna technology to all bands and scenarios to build leading 5G networks, the statement noted.
“Super-charged by industry’s leading innovation, these new products and solutions are distinct. They include Industry’s Lightest 64T64R Massive MIMO, BladeAAU Pro, Industry’s only 64T A+P Solution, BladeRRU Pro, Industry’s Only RF Unit that supports three low and three medium bands, and Industry’s Only Commercial FDD Massive MIMO,” it added.
The President of Huawei Wireless Product Line, Yang Chaobin, said, “We aim to support operators to efficiently deploy 5G networks and provide first-rate experience. Huawei will work with global partners to innovate and share 5G benefits with all.”
Huawei’s 5G prowess won several awards, including the ‘Best Mobile Network Infrastructure’ at the Global Mobile Awards for its BladeAAU product, the statement highlighted.
Huawei launched the industry’s first BladeAAU product in 2019 to help operators overcome deployment challenges relating to the insufficient antenna space.
According to the statement, the judges, while expressing enormous delight for the Huawei for BladeAAU series, added, “This stands out as a vital enabler for operators deploying 5G, ensuring support for commercially important spectrum in the years to come.”
